Torcello, what a change of pace from Venice and Burano. Though there are 2 -3 restaurants and I think one small hotel, it is so nice and quiet.

Again, I played around with Photoshop. You've got to love digital photography!

Why is it that so many of us love those shuttered windows?

I then went to Murano. I didn't take that many pictures there, I was busy glass shopping!

Probably my favorite door in all of Venice...I'd love to meet the people who live in this house!

Since Castello is not filled with tourists, I had a wonderful quiet walk. Most of the times, it was just me and locals.

Like other areas in Venice, Castello is filled with pleasant surprises at every turn.

And finally another cat! This cat was just galloping through the park, until he saw me and started to pose.

Okay, not really my apartment, but when I win the lotto, it will be. :)

From Castello, San Marco on the right and Giorgio Maggiore on the left...see the plane right above the campanile of San Giorgio..or at least the optical illusion makes it seem that way.

Arsenale clock...I noticed that most of the public clocks in Venice never had the right time... You got to love the Italians. :)

Okay, maybe these shutters could use a new coat of paint..but then, would it be as charming?

|
Yes, even in October there were a lot of tourists, as you can see from the people on the bridge.

And this is for the Donna Leon fans. This is the door of the Questura which Guido works at. Being a huge fan, when I saw the police station marked on a tour map, I had to go see it and then capture my reflection in the door. Not the greatest picture from a 'beauty' standpoint, but a fun memory for me.
